I read once that “pets are not always your whole life, but they do make your life whole” - and that sums it up for me. I grew up around animals from a young age and was always really passionate about their health and well being and really enjoyed caring for them.  I wanted to increase and expand my knowledge about them, and so vet nursing seemed like a perfect opportunity.  I started with Better Pet Vets as a school based trainee shortly after they opened, and it has been a really rewarding journey.  The day is always challenging and exciting - you never know quite what will come through the door next.  I have learnt so much since I first started and have really enjoyed building up my skills to help and care for pets and their owners every day.

I also really enjoy working with the rest of the team - we’re basically an extended family for one another.  Everyone has different skills and expertise, but because everyone respects and trusts each other, we all get along really well and we are a very close knit team.

I have a 5 year old chihuahua called “Tyler” who was a result of a “soft” moment when he needed a new home and I offered to help out.   I just can’t imagine life without him now.  With my fiance, we also have another fur baby, “Frankie” a 6 month old Boxer.  They are great friends and yet completely different - Tyler can do no wrong (there may be some bias there…), but Frankie, wow, does she know how to keep us on our toes!  Digging, pulling the stuffing out of her bed, taking herself for walks ….. its endless all the mischief she can make in a day!

I really love our little family, and am looking forward to expanding my skills at work over the years to come, and after Kiran and I are married we will hopefully do some travelling and see the world together.
